I am Melinda Massingale and I live in the small town of Stanfield, North Carolina.  Winterplace has been our second home since 1994 when we built our first chalet named "Place 2 Be".  The "Place 2 Be" was the first rental chalet at Winterplace.  It was a leap of faith for us because we had no idea if we would be able to find renters, seeing as this was our first real estate venture.  We learned quickly how to make it work and be successful at it, making our renters part of us.  Once people realized there were slopeside chalets at Winterplace for rent, we became busy making reservations.  Every three years we did an expansion to our property, adding "Place 2 Be 2",  "Our Place 2 Be" and the "Snowflake Inn".   By the year 2004 we had built four homes at Winterplace, three of which we rent and one which we use personally.   Even though I don't live in West Virginia, I travel up every week during ski season to make sure things are like they should be and spend time during the summer months making any necessary repairs and improvements.   We would love to have you stay with us!!
